Patty Mooney is the COO of Crystal Pyramid Productions and New & Unique Videos. Patty produces, shoots, edits, narrates, acts, photographs, markets, crunches numbers, distributes and over the last few months, she has been a sound technician on shoots for Discovery Channel Canada, Sunday Morning Shoot-Out and the American Thoracic Society. She has edited pieces for NS Microwave, MasterCard, Glaxo-Smith-Kline and Berlex and just won a Videographer's Award of Distinction for the convention piece she edited for Berlex. She has shot video for San Dietgo Earth Day and Bravo at the Westgate, and has provided still photography to Pechanga Casino & Resort and Graphic Arts Magazine.
With a client list including companies like UPS, A Current Affair, Discovery Channel Canada and many others, Patty has always been a maverick in the video production realm. She produced the first how-to video on massage called "Massage For Relaxation" in 1985, co-produced the first mountain-biking how-to video, "The Great Mountain Biking Video," in 1987 and 1993 and 1994 she co-produced "Full Cycle: A World Odyssey," the mountain-bike adventures of a couple traveling in nine countries including Wales, Switzerland, Greece, Australia, Tahiti and India. This video won 13 international awards and Patty was honored by the AV Multimedia Producers Magazine in 1998 and 1999 as a Top 100 Producer. She has also shared awards for productions and production work, and has written articles for industry periodicals such as Millimeter Magazine, Post Magazine and AV Multimedia Producers Magazine.
Patty donates thousands of dollars every year to peace, environmental and community organizations such as The Carter Center, Tariq Khamisa Foundation, The Environmental Health Coalition and the Peace Resource Center. She has shot and edited pieces worth thousands of dollars for nonprofit groups including San Diego Earth Day, the Martin Luther King Parade Committee and San Diego Code Pink. Patty produced a number of social documentaries in the past few years including "My Choice" on the March for Women's Lives of 2004 and "Peace Out San Diego" on the peace marches and vigils of San Diego from 2003 to 2004; from which all proceeds were donated to charity. Aside from her busy work and philanthropic commitments, she finds time to knit boas during the winter and donates all proceeds to these nonprofit organizations.
